Do This Every Day to Improve Your Photography Skills

My last Photography Tips and Tricks #91 was to take a photo every day.  I also recently viewed a video that touted to get better you need to be taking photos every day.  So, it is time to revisit my photo every day.

So how hard is it to take a photo every day?  With today's technology, I don't think is as difficult as you may think.  I tried this before by trying the common "Project 365" to take a picture a day for a full year.  But I gave up after about 180 days.  It was challenging and I took photos of some obscure objects to get my photo every day.  So, the question is why did I give up after 180 days?

When I look back at my first try, I tried to get the perfect photo every day and also restricted myself to my DLSR camera.  So the only restriction I am going to put on myself is that it is a picture every day with any camera (including my iPhone).  A picture is a picture.  Here are some guidelines I will apply to this adventure

  • One photo every day on any camera
  • Place the photos in a folder on my computer
  • Title each photo - and try to title with a what or why (not required)

That's it.  Simple.  And you know what, it is okay to miss a day.  But I will do my best to not miss any days.  In project 365, project 52, etc. if you miss a day you have failed.  Or at least that is how I feel.  So in my adventure, it is okay if you miss a day here and there.

So, give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I have a photo yesterday from my iPhone, so that is my starting point.

Here is pic 1 for me.  Named ZeusRoyalty
